JEREMIAH PALECEK

Jeremiah Palecek’s work recontextualizes digital culture through the lens of traditional oil painting. Blurring the line between classical technique and contemporary imagery, he translates the ephemeral nature of internet visuals into something tangible and enduring. His paintings explore the tension between the digital and the physical, often distorting familiar digital iconography with expressive brushwork and rich, layered color.

His work is rooted in both pop surrealism and post internet art, nostalgia, and the evolving role of paint in modern visual culture.

Jeremiah has shown internationally at museums including at Pompidou Metz, Musée de l'Élysée, and Schirn Kunsthalle. His work is included in various private collections throughout the world including. He lives in Prague, Czech Republic.

“I jokingly refer to Jeremiah as “my number one” (laughs). This is mainly because he was the very first artist I encountered at the very beginning of our gallery’s activity. His work is characterized by untamed playfulness and imagination; it is full of bizarreness and frenzy and is extremely visually intense. When looking at his work, the viewer often finds themselves balancing between laughter and unease. Jer exhibits all over the world, and I’m happy that it is us who represent him in Prague.”
