KAMILA ŽENATÁ

Kamila Ženatá (*1953) is one of the prominent figures on the Czech contemporary art scene. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in 1979, where she studied under Ladislav Čepelák. Initially focused on printmaking and intaglio, she later transitioned to painting and multimedia installations.

Her work centers on themes of memory, emotion, and inner transformation. Drawing inspiration from Taoism, quantum physics, and psychedelic experiences, she seeks to express the inexpressible. She is the author of large-scale projects and exhibits in prestigious galleries.

Alongside her artistic practice, she is also engaged in psychoanalytic therapy.

The selection of artists that leads to a meaningful structure for exhibitions in our gallery undergoes a long-term process. Kamila Ženatá didn’t have to wait for her place – she is one of my personal favorites. Her work is breathtaking, unmistakable, and timeless. On top of that, I find Kamila very likable and close to me as a person.
